The Bellor Story

We started Bellor because we were tired of choosing.

Bellor began in the fall of 2023, in a fourth-floor walk-up in the Lower East Side of New York City. The whole company fit on one kitchen table: a spreadsheet, two sketchbooks, a shoebox of leather swatches, and a stubborn belief that everyday footwear could be better than a compromise.

Our founders met while working two blocks apart in SoHo — Marco, a former shoemaker's apprentice who'd trained in his uncle's repair shop in Florence, and Dana, a designer who'd spent six years watching people limp home across the Williamsburg Bridge in shoes that were never built for the mileage a real day demands.

Good shoes for real life.

Every Bellor pair is produced in small runs by a family-run workshop in Alicante, Spain — people we've visited, eaten lunch with, and know by name — using leathers chosen to age well rather than wear out.

The Art of Small Runs

Each Bellor pair embodies handcrafted precision. Our small batches are made in Alicante, Spain, using leather that improves with time. We reject mass production in favor of lasting quality, creating durable footwear purposefully designed for the demands of real life.

The Story Behind the Craft

We started Bellor because we were tired of choosing. Choosing between shoes that looked good and shoes that felt good. Between something we'd wear for one season and something we'd keep. Between paying too much for a name and paying too little for a pair that fell apart by spring.
